I have always admired stained glass windows. In my book, House of Belief: Creating Your Personal Style, I share how an experience with stained glass in Paris--at Notre Dame Cathedral--changed my life. From that moment in Paris, I have believed that we can use the power of creativity as a positive force in our lives. Creative thoughts design our days through our choices: what we eat for breakfast, where we go, what we wear, and how we think and love. Projects that help us to act on our positive feelings and visually express them keep us on the high road with a reminder of the good. I designed this "Stained Glass Friends" tribute as a visual reminder of the overriding importance of family, friendship, and guiding values. It is a super holiday project that can be created for a family gathering as well. Each guest can create one simple piece to add to this stained glass celebration. Individual pieces make great Christmas tree ornaments too! Also, great for honoring birthday friends.
PROJECT MATERIALS: You will need colored plexiglass squares cut to 4" x 4". Key chain at desired lengths. Photos of friends and family copied on clear transparency paper. Clear drying spray adhesive. SIMPLY: Drill a hole/s in the plexi-glass; cut the image to fit the square. Apply the image by lightly dusting the plexi-glass with spray adhesive. Use key chain to link together or to hang singularly on your Christmas tree. Also, you may use a window-adhesive hook to display just one.
COMMENT TO WIN A "KATILLAC SHACK KIT" to make this project!
Winner: Rhonda @ Blue Creek Home. Congratulations!
WHAT THREE PEOPLE WOULD YOU INCLUDE IN YOUR PROJECT?

Thanks for using transparent paper I have some I tried to sell at a garage sale this past weekend but now I think I will keep it.

I love this!! My husband and I are youth leaders at our church and we just moved into our new building. We have huge windows on the front of our building and this would look awesome! We could put pictures of the youth and some of our favorite quotes or words! Thanks for the great idea!

I am already doing this for my children, but not on plexi-glass. I like the plexi-glass idea better than cloth (wall-hanging). I have a picture of my grandmother, mother and myself in aprons and will use your idea as a gift for each of them. I like that they can hang this in a window and look out at it while seeing our beautiful Paradise. Thank you. Blessings, Janet

WOW, what a great project...perfect gift idea for Christmas. I would love to make one for my brother and his family, which would include my sister-in-law and two nieces, Brynn and Reiley. Then of course I would have to make one for my sister and her two "furbabies" Chico (cat) and Schmeekley (bulldog)...and then one for my mom...you get the picture! :-)

Hope you can read what I type. Google has me typing blind--I can't see a thing I type.
I would do a picture of my husband and his 2 brothers when they were kids (one of his brothers died a couple of years ago) then I would post a picture of me and my 2 sisters when we were kids and the third would be of our 4 kiddps together.

This is beautiful! I love stained glass windows, too. We have one at the top of the window in our living room. It isn't very fancy, but I like it and even though we really need to replace that window, I'm not sure I could give up the stained glass.
If I made this project, I would include my husband and daughter, of course, and if dogs count as 'people' then they would be included too!
